GET TO KNOW YOUR PET SITTER

I was born in 1974 and raised in Twentynine Palms. I grew up riding and showing horses, and we had chickens, turkeys, ducks, goats, pigs, rabbits, dogs, cats, and just about everything else. Basically, we raised our own food!

 

My parents owned a video store here called Rocking H Video, and many moons ago, they also owned Dave’s Auto Body Shop.

 

I left 29 Palms when I was 18 and returned in 2008.

 

I’ve been cleaning houses and pet and house sitting since I was 16. By the time I turned 35, my knees said NO MORE to cleaning houses. (Ladies, if you clean houses for a living, WEAR KNEE PADS!) So, I decided to focus on what I truly love: caring for animals.

 

I’ve been doing this for 25+ years, but if you count all the animals I grew up caring for, we’re talking 40+ years of experience!

 

I prefer being surrounded by animals rather than people, which is exactly why I pet sit. Being able to provide care for animals is one of the most rewarding jobs you could have, and I’m good at what I do.

 

I’m home 24/7 unless I’m running to the grocery store or checking on someone’s house, so your pets are rarely left alone.

 

I don’t drink, smoke, or do drugs. I have no children in my home, and I gave up on relationships years ago because, apparently, my picker is broken. LOL! Which means I’m drama-free!

 

I’m also heavily tattooed and don’t conform to society’s expectations of what a person should look or act like. If you’re judgmental, I might not be the pet sitter for you. But if you want someone who is comfortable in her own skin and doesn’t pretend to be someone she’s not, we might get along just fine!

 

THE ONE THING YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT ME… I don’t put on a fake mask in front of people and then change who I am the moment they drive away.

 

I am who I am, 24/7.

 

I’m a straight shooter, brutally honest, and unapologetically myself.

If you’re looking for someone to care for your animals while you go on vacation, please understand one thing:

 

I coddle animals, NOT humans!

 

I’m not a counselor, and while I understand that leaving your pets can be stressful, I’m not the pet sitter for you if you need constant updates and reassurance throughout your entire vacation.

 

It’s basically a matter of picking your poison.

 

Do you want someone reliable and trustworthy caring for your animals? Someone who has been doing this for decades without incident and knows what she’s doing?

 

If so, I’M YOUR GIRL!

 

Or do you want someone who will constantly reassure you, cater to every request, and jump through hoops to keep you comfortable?

 

If that’s what you’re looking for, I’m probably NOT your girl.

 

Right about now, you’re probably thinking, “OMG, how rude!” Right?

 

But unless you’ve had to endure some of the situations I’ve dealt with over the years, you really can’t understand where I’m coming from.

 

There are other pet sitters out there who are willing to jump through hoops for money, and that’s perfectly fine. Everyone runs their business differently.

 

I know what I do well, I know what I offer, and I know my limits. I’m here to care for your animals, not manage your vacation anxiety.
